Universal Studios is an entertainment destination in Osaka that offers a range of rides and experiences for the whole family. Universal Studios is well-known for its iconic Wizard of Oz ride, which is located just outside the entrance to Universal Studios theme park.
This ride has been running since the early 1900s, so it has seen some time for renovations and updates. Currently, fans can go on this ride once a day for free, as it runs until 10:00 PM every night.
Once they enter the Wizard of Oz area, they will see a cable television box with a button on it. Once they push this button, a video screen will appear where they can enter their data and go on the ride.
Go to Tennoji Station
Most people who travel to Universal Studios from Osaka Airport do so by taking the subway to Tennoji Station. This is a fairly long walk from the airport, and it can be a little confusing.
If you are planning on visiting any of the theme parks at Universal Studios, make sure to visit Tennoji Station. It is located right next to the park entrance, and it has multiple trains that take you all the way to each of the parks.
Many people use this as a way to get between Universal Studios and Minatune City Park as well. Both parks are about a 20-minute drive away!
The train stations in Japan are very similar to American ones in that they have big red buildings with tracks inside.
Take the Midosuji Line to Shinozaki Station
This line runs parallel to the airport express railway, linking Osaka Airport (KX1) with Shinozaki Station on the Midosuji Line.
The Midosuji Line is a metro-style network featuring stops similar to those on a subway or streetcar. The network is labelled Central, East, Kaminari, and West and connects Osaka International Airport with Shinozaki Station on the Midosuji Line.
At Shinozaki Station, take a bus or tram north to Universal Studios Japan! If you are travelling with a bus or tram pass, hop onboard before it terminates at Universal Studios Japan as it may be too late to get off once there.
If you are travelling by train, use Kinukawa Bus Terminus in Kinukawa District to get from Osaka International Airport (KX1) to Shinozaki Station on the Midosuji Line (see bullet point).
Walk to the JR line
The JR line takes you directly from Osaka Airport to Universal Studios. It is a long, long walk with very few places to stop and take a break.
If you are in good shape, it is possible to get from the airport to Universal in about an hour and a half on a good day. If you are stopping at every theme park along the way, then it can be even less time!
Because this tour takes such a long time, most people on the tour do small things at first before they recruit and join forces with another person. This keeps people on board longer and feels more personal.
At Universal Studios, you will see many groups of people walking together, taking separate tours, or alone.
Go to Osaka Station
Most people in the U.S. arrive at airports or train stations and are like, “Where do I go?” So, get to the station or airport early to make sure you get to the right place.
At Osaka Station, you can take a public transportation system called Yabusame. The Yabusame is a city tour that takes you around town on foot or by bike. You can go at your own pace and see as many places as you want!
On your Yabusame tour, you will see all the major tourist destinations in Osaka including Universal Studios, Universal CityWalk, and Nippon Columbia Center! These are great places to visit if you are looking for a new theme park destination!
Universal Studios is one of the largest entertainment complexes in North America with over 200 attractions! It is known for its live entertainment and interactive experiences.
Take the Kuruma Airport Limousine Bus to Kansai Airport
When you arrive at the airport, get on the Kuruma Airport Limousine Bus and tell it “Universal Studios” or “Osaka International”. It will take you less than an hour to get to Universal Studios from here!
Do not worry about your luggage while you are on the bus. It will be taken care of by the driver.
After arriving at Universal Studios, go straight to die Einzelschauplättekonstruktion (single screen presentation). You can do this as many times as you want, just come back to it! Once you watch it, go to one of the restaurants or shops near the park and have a snack or coffee or whatever!
Then, go back to the park and ride your bikes or skates! There are plenty of places outside of the theme park where you can do these.
Take the Keihan Railway to Otsu Station
When you arrive at the central Osaka airport, head to Otsu Station for your next flight or train ride. Universal Studios Japan is six miles away!
Universal Studios Japan is a theme park with several attractions and rides. The closest station to the park is Otsu Station on the Keihan Railway.
To get to and from the station, take a bus number 28 or 31 which stop just outside the entrance of the park. Both serve close by areas such as Namba and Higashi Osaka districts. Both cost ¥300 per person trip which includes entrance to both parks.
If you have more time, take bus number 94 which takes you all the way to Universal Studios Japan! This runs every 30 minutes during daylight hours and 24 hours a day.
Take the Hankyu Railway to Yumeshima Station
From Osaka airport, it is a short ride to Yumeshima Station on the Hankyu Railway. The Hankyu Railway is Tokyo’s subway system with dozens of lines crisscrossing the city.
Yumeshima is one of the four Universal Studios parks in Japan, and is where most visitors go to get their theme park fix. It is also the location for several major attractions such as Jurassic Park, Islands of Adventure, and Legoland Discovery Park.
Universal Studios Japan offers late night entertainment and a relaxing drink and meal menu. There are also several bars located on-site that serve alcohol, so you can have a nice night in without being too tired!
Getting from Osaka airport to Yumeshima takes about an hour and fifteen minutes on public transportation.
Walk to Universal City Area
If you are coming from Osaka Airport, you can take a bus to Universal City or walk to Universal City Area.
Universal City is located approximately 4 kilometers away from the airport. The area is filled with entertainment and shopping facilities, making it a convenient location for visitors.
There are many buses that run between the two locations. The cost is around ¥150 per person, so save money by taking one of those. There are also walkways that run parallel to the road where the buses operate, making it even easier to get to Universal Studios.
Universal Studios is about 7 kilometers away from the airport. Again, there are multiple ways to get to Universal Studios from Osaka Airport. Buses run between both locations regularly and cost about ¥100 per person.
