The city has some great weekend festivals that are free to attend. There are plenty of concerts, food and entertainment. There are even events for kids. One old-time favorite is the Richmond County Fair. The fair, which takes place in Staten Island, was revived in 1979 and has many attractions, including a petting zoo and a carnival. The event also features live music and two stages. There are plenty of rides and food, and you can also participate in a pie-eating contest!
In addition to the famous Old Town Art Fair, there are also several street festivals and music festivals. In the Old Town Triangle Historic District, you can enjoy the Old Town Art Fair and the Vegandale Festival, both of which feature vegan vendors. You can also enjoy the Chi-Soul Festival, a music festival held at the Navy Pier that includes local DJs and food trucks.
For music lovers, DC JazzFest at the Wharf features big names in jazz. The Capital House Music Festival, Summer Music Festival in the Park, and Dock Days of Summer are other free events. You can also check out the open mic at DC Brau. Whether you enjoy jazz, classical or world music, you’re sure to find something you love.
Boston Calling is another great music festival in the Boston area. This three-day event features a number of local and national acts, including Nine Inch Nails and The Stokes. Also on the lineup are Metallica, Rufus Du Sol, Glass Animals, Wilco, and more.
